Gran Torino 7/10

I have to say this movie had its ups and downs for me. It was a bit slow to grab my attention, but I was definitely hooked by the end. The thing I liked the most was the idea of the characters...that they would be so different but really end up caring for each other so much. Too bad most of the cast didn't really do so hot in the actual acting department. Overall, another mixed one.

District 9 7/10

I have to say I was a little disappointed by District 9. I liked the fact that it was very unique, and that it put a different spin on the typical alien story. However, I'd be lying if I didn't say I found some of it to be a little corny, and at times a little boring. I guess I was just hoping for more mystery/suspense, and that didn't happen. Not sure if I should fault it for that or not...
